Description
A delicious Muffuletta sandwich featuring layers of cured meats, cheese, and a zesty olive salad, perfect for picnics and gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 round loaf of Italian bread
- 4 oz salami
- 4 oz mortadella
- 4 oz ham
- 4 oz provolone cheese
- 1 cup mixed olives, chopped
- 1/4 cup celery, diced
- 1/4 cup carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Slice the Italian bread in half horizontally.
- Layer the salami, mortadella, ham, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the bread.
- In a bowl, combine chopped olives, diced celery, diced carrots, minced garlic, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to make the olive salad.
- Spread a generous scoop of olive salad on top of the cheese.
- Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich and press down gently.
- If desired, grill the assembled sandwich in a pan with a bit of oil for 2-3 minutes until crispy and warm.
- Cut into quarters and serve.
Notes
For best flavor, prepare the olive salad a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Use fresh bread for the best texture.
