Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (e.g. pecans or walnuts)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Cook until the mixture reaches a rich golden brown color and a temperature of around 300°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Pour the toffee over a layer of chopped nuts on a baking sheet.
  4. Let it cool completely, then break into pieces.

Notes

Use a candy thermometer for best results and allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
