Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef liver, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions, sprinkle with salt, and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and butter. Season liver with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Cook liver slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned but tender.
- Return caramelized onions to the skillet and mix gently. Cook for another minute to heat through.
- Serve warm, garnished with parsley if desired.
Notes
Choose fresh beef liver for the best flavor. Don’t rush the onion caramelizing process for maximum sweetness.
