- 1 cup warm milk (100–105°F / 38–40°C)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, egg, melted butter, and 3 cups of flour; knead until smooth and slightly tacky.
- Let the dough rise until doubled, about 45–60 minutes.
- Divide dough into 12–16 pieces; roll into balls and flatten slightly.
- Toss each piece in a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
- Layer the sugared pieces in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Allow a second rise for 20–30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes or until golden and center reads 190°F (88°C).
- Cool for 10 minutes before inverting or slicing.
Notes
Brush pieces with melted butter for better sugar adherence and a crisp crust.
