Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together for the swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter on top.
  7. Swirl the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  10. Allow the cake to cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the batter.
