- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk, room temperature
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together for the swirl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter on top.
- Swirl the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter gently with a knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the batter.
