A fun and easy dessert that resembles dirt, perfect for Halloween celebrations with kids.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos work best)
  • 1 bag gummy worms
  • Optional: candy pumpkins, candy eyes, sprinkles, gummy dinosaurs, or mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the pudding mixes with cold milk until thickened. Chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Pulse the cookies in a food processor until finely crushed. Alternatively, you can crush them in a bag with a rolling pin.
  3. Beat the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar together until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
  4. Stir the cream mixture into the pudding mixture.
  5. In a 9×13 dish or trifle bowl, layer the crushed cookies and pudding mixture, repeating until full. Finish with cookie crumbs on top.
  6. Add gummy worms and other themed decorations before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add fresh gummies and decorations before serving again.
