- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup cherry preserves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup quality chocolate, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
- Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
- Fill each indentation with cherry preserves.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-18 minutes.
- If desired, drizzle with melted chocolate after cooling.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too warm to help prevent spreading. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
