- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup canned cherry pie filling
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, for egg wash
- Powdered sugar and milk, for glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Let the puff pastry thaw until pliable, avoiding stickiness.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over squares or rectangles of puff pastry.
- Add a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each pastry.
- Fold or twist the corners for decoration, then brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly, then drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
Notes
These pastries can be assembled the night before and baked fresh in the morning. They can also be eaten cold.
