- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic until fully cooked.
- Combine the browned beef, uncooked rice, broth, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a baking dish.
- Top with cheese and cover the dish with foil.
- Bake for 35 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, use quality broth and reserve some cheese to sprinkle on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
