Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the Yukon Gold potatoes into equal-sized chunks.
  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
  3. While potatoes are boiling, melt butter in a skillet over low heat and add minced garlic. Cook slowly until the garlic turns golden and fragrant, about 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes using a potato ricer or masher.
  5. Mix in the caramelized garlic and butter, followed by the heavy cream. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve warm and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For an even creamier texture, use warm cream and butter when mixing. You can make these ahead and reheat; just add a splash of cream to restore consistency.
