Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh herbs (chives or parsley) for garnish
Instructions
- Peel and chop the Yukon Gold potatoes into equal-sized chunks.
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
- While potatoes are boiling, melt butter in a skillet over low heat and add minced garlic. Cook slowly until the garlic turns golden and fragrant, about 10 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes using a potato ricer or masher.
- Mix in the caramelized garlic and butter, followed by the heavy cream. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve warm and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
For an even creamier texture, use warm cream and butter when mixing. You can make these ahead and reheat; just add a splash of cream to restore consistency.
