- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 slices American cheese
- 4 slices bread (your choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form it into a patty.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the patty, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- While the burger is cooking, butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Once the burger is cooked, place it on one slice of bread in the skillet and layer with the cheeses.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Press the sandwich down gently with a spatula and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and cut in half before serving.
