Description
Delicious and crispy egg rolls filled with the classic flavors of a cheeseburger, perfect for snacks and appetizers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef (or turkey) over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the onion is soft.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese and chopped pickles (if using) to the meat mixture. Stir until the cheese melts and everything is well combined.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto the wrapper, near one corner.
- Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll it tightly to seal. Use a little water to help seal the edges if needed.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the egg rolls in the oil.
- Fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Notes
Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the egg rolls to get that crispy texture. Don’t overfill the egg rolls, or they may burst while frying. You can bake the egg rolls at 400°F for about 20-25 minutes for a healthier version.
