Description
A fun and tasty twist on a classic favorite, combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with the crunch of an egg roll.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are soft.
- Drain any excess fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped pickles, if using.
- Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place a few tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling in the center.
- Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling. Tuck in the sides and roll it up tight. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For baking, brush the egg rolls with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through.
