- 1 jalapeño, diced
- ⅔ cup baking soda
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, then incorporate cheddar and jalapeño.
- Let the dough rise for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Shape the dough into small bites.
- Boil water with baking soda for the bath, then dip each bite for 30 seconds.
- Place bites on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
