Description
A rich and creamy butter chicken dish made with tender chicken thighs cooked in a spiced tomato and cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and finely chop onions, mincing the ginger and garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add seasoned chicken thighs and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
- Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet. Add the remaining butter and minced onions to the same pan and sauté until translucent.
- Mix in garlic and ginger, then pour in the tomato puree. Cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Stir in garam masala, cumin, and turmeric, cooking until fragrant.
- Return the chicken to the pan, pour in the heavy cream, and mix gently. Simmer for about 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro alongside rice or naan.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use ghee instead of butter. Adjust spices to your preference; add chili powder for spice.
