Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat while stirring constantly.
- Once the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the browned butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat until the mixture is smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients until everything is mixed well.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop the dough into balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the flour mixture. Chilling the dough is crucial for achieving the perfect cookie texture.
