- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onions and garlic; drain excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish, and mayonnaise to create the “special sauce.”
- Transfer the beef mixture to a buttered 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- Layer frozen tater tots on top, pointing side up.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until tots are golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Brown the beef in batches for better flavor and prevent sogginess by not thawing the tater tots before baking.
