Description

A comforting casserole combining seasoned ground beef, tangy sauce, cheddar, and crispy tater tots for a family-friendly twist on the classic Big Mac.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onions and garlic; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish, and mayonnaise to create the “special sauce.”
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to a buttered 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Layer frozen tater tots on top, pointing side up.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until tots are golden and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Brown the beef in batches for better flavor and prevent sogginess by not thawing the tater tots before baking.
