Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed but cold
- 1 to 1 ½ cups mixed berries (fresh or thawed and drained)
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 tsp water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Cut the puff pastry into 8 squares.
- Pipe a tablespoon of creamy filling onto each puff pastry square.
- Top with a teaspoon of mixed berries.
- Fold the pastry to create pockets or leave open as tarts.
- Brush the edges with egg wash.
- Bake on a parchment-lined tray for 15-18 minutes until deep golden.
Notes
Chill the assembled puffs for 10 minutes before baking to prevent spreading. Use high heat for the best oven spring, and ensure berries are well-drained to avoid sogginess.
