Description

A classic banana bread recipe that combines the sweetness of ripe bananas with a moist, tender texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Combine the mashed bananas with sugar, oil (or melted butter), eggs, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt; gently fold until blended without overmixing.
  5. If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips for that extra pop of flavor.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Options for serving include butter, cream cheese, vanilla ice cream, or drizzled honey.
