- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth, then gradually whisk in milk. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted and smooth.
- Mix cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese; sprinkle over the top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, add spices like paprika or garlic powder. You can also mix in cooked vegetables or different cheese types.
