- 1 pre-baked deep 9-inch pie shell
- 6 to 8 thick slices of bacon, fried crisp and chopped up
- 2 average-sized tomatoes, sliced thin
- 1 big yellow onion, sliced thin
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon regular white flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or chives, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Toss onion slices into a medium skillet with some bacon grease and cook on medium heat until soft and brown, about 10 minutes. Let cool.
- Layer half the onions, followed by half the tomatoes, and half the bacon in the pie crust. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- In a bowl, mix mozzarella, mayo, sour cream, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Spread the cheesy mixture over the layered filling in the pie dish.
- Bake the pie for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, try using different types of cheese. You can prepare the filling ahead of time.
