Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries)

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, and dried fruits.
  6. Chill the dough for 30 minutes if desired.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around the edges.
  10. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Dough can also be frozen for up to three months.
