Description

A cozy loaf packed with real apple chunks and cinnamon, reminiscent of café treats but homemade.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon; set aside.
  2. Cream together butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla one at a time, beating until smooth.
  4. Add flour and baking powder, then mix in milk gradually.
  5. Fold in chopped apples gently.
  6. In a greased loaf pan, layer half of the batter, sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and then add the rest of the batter.
  7. Top with remaining cinnamon mixture and swirl with a butter knife.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool slightly, slice thick, and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, let the apples sit with cinnamon and sugar for five minutes. Serve warm with salted butter for a delightful treat.
