Description

Quick and easy apple crisp recipe that transforms wrinkly apples into a delicious dessert. Perfect for fall baking!


Ingredients

  • 56 medium apples (Granny Smith recommended)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup oats (old-fashioned)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut up

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Peel and slice the apples, toss with lemon juice in the baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over the apples.
  4. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, oats, remaining cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add cold butter and mix until clumpy.
  6. Spread topping over the apples.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Use cold butter for a crunchy topping. Leftovers reheat well in the microwave or air fryer. Feel free to experiment with different apple varieties and toppings!
