- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

- 2 cups diced apples (preferably Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and nuts if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
