Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for coating)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Stir until everything dissolves.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour while stirring vigorously. Keep stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip or use a zip-top bag with one corner snipped to pipe the dough.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Pipe strips of dough (about 4 inches long) into the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd.
- Lightly spray the churros with cooking spray and cook for 8 minutes, turning them halfway through. They should be golden brown when done.
- Roll the hot churros in a cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving. They go great with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche.
Notes
For best results, make sure the dough is smooth. Experiment with different coatings for extra flavor.
