  • Total Time: 18 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for coating)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Stir until dissolved.
  2. Gradually add all-purpose flour while stirring vigorously until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip or use a zip-top bag with one corner snipped off.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Pipe strips of dough (about 4 inches long) into the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
  6. Lightly spray the churros with cooking spray and cook for 8 minutes, turning them halfway through until golden brown.
  7. Roll the hot churros in a cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with melted chocolate or dulce de leche for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
